EMERGENCY CARE
The owner must let the Petsitter know if they have an established vet that they wish the Petsitter to use in the case of an emergency. In the event of a pet illness or other medical emergency and the specified vet is unavailable, the pet will be taken to the closest vet or Bayshore Animal Clinic.

The Client understands and agrees that attempts will be made to contact the Client in case of emergency and if the Client is unreachable, the Pet Sitter has permission to authorize any care the vet deems necessary for the pet’s health, safety, and survival.

The client must notify the vet of the Pet sitter's name, and notify the vet that the Pet sitter has authorization to oversee the pet's care if the owner is unreachable.  The owner must have a credit card on file with the vet in case of this type of situation. If there is a problem with the direct payment from the Owner to the vet, at the time of service, the client agrees to reimburse Harbour Island Pets for any additional fees and all costs relating to vet care during their absence, which may include x-rays, blood work, surgery, and/or other expensive procedures, as well as an emergency medical transport fee of $35.00.

For the safety of your pet and others, pets must have current vaccinations. Should the Pet Sitter be bitten or otherwise exposed to any disease or ailment received from the Client’s animal that has not been properly vaccinated, it will be the Client’s responsibility to pay all costs and damages incurred by the victim.
